Children’s Program

The Class One MMA kids program is the perfect tool to change your child’s life forever. The lessons learned both on and off the mat will instill in them a confidence and self belief that will continue with them throughout their lives. Our mission is to help children develop active, positive lifestyles. By incorporating the fun physical activity of martial arts into a child’s weekly or daily routine that may increase the chance that physical activity will become a permanent part of their daily lives. If you want to instill discipline, determination, leadership, commitment, responsibility, and good sportsmanship in your child while simultaneously giving them the confidence to navigate through life’s waters with ease, then this is the program for you.

The children’s program will consist of 3 different types of  classes: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing and Muay Thai. Your child can train all 3 types of classes.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art focusing largely on grappling and ground fighting. Translated as “the gentle art,” Brazilian jiu-jitsu focuses on using strength and technique in the most efficient way possible to control and overcome opponents of greater size, strength and aggression.

Muay Thai kickboxing is the national sport of Thailand. Muay Thai is referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs” or the “Science of Eight Limbs” because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight “points of contact”.

Boxing otherwise known as the “sweet science” is a combat sport in which two people engage in a contest of strength, reflexes, and endurance by throwing punches at an opponent with gloved hands.

The children’s instructors will be taught by Luis Azeredo, Jill Emery and Ken Ng.
